Show report listing
(not everything is included. I sometimes don't do reports, especially for local bands, and a lot of older shows never HAD reports to copy into here. But I'll try to post as many as I can!)

If you want to add this, you don't need to ask!
I will NOT be using this journal as a means of communication; I wont be reading anyones' journals through here nor commenting, nor viewing communities. If you'd like a more personal connection, there's always my actual journal. But that one I'm more picky about, obviously.

Questions, comments, whatevers? Hit me.
But not literally I'm small and delicate :(((((

A Dir en grey collection.
Now (mostly) with photo links! 8D
(Yes, I realize this may come off as pathetic to some people, but you don't need to tell me that. We've all got our vices! At least I'm not spending this money on drugs, eh? I'm sure you buy things that I think are silly, anyways. If I'm earning this money myself, I can spend it on what I want to! Its a step up from my superball collection, yes? XD)

Also sorry, this is not related to the rest of the journal. I just haven't got any other place for it really! And I like to keep track of stuff...

It's a never-ending love affair )

DIR EN GREY ALL VISIBLE THINGS 2009 US

Nov 11 - Gramercy Theatre - New York

report )

So yeah, this report kinda sucks cause I caught something in New York (probably from that freezing ass airport I spent the night in), and so I'm a bit worn out and crabby. Well, more crabby than my normal crabby. Which is still pretty crabby. Crab crab crab.

Sept 14 - C.C. Lemon Hall - Tokyo

This show definitely made up for the last one (which WAS a fabulous show, just the before and afters were miserable haha). DEFINITELY made up for it.

IT WAS HIS BIRTHDAY~!!!

Now, let me preface this by saying I don't know Miyavi all that well, so please forgive me for not knowing song names. Also, we were three rows from the back, on the second floor, so I couldn't see details too well. But the venue wasn't super big, and we were on an aisle so our view was actually very nice!

Anyways, here we gooooo~!

For all US fans, this is cool. A screen came down at the end showing the World Tour dates, and HE IS COMING TO THE US! October/November, in New York, Atlanta, and Dallas, with more to be announced. So start saving your moneys~!

Okay, PEACE OUT Y'ALL HURR DEE HURR.

Miyavi, I love you.

Far From Falling and Fair to Midland

April 5 - The Rock - Maplewood, MN

This.

This show.

Was beyond description. It was absolutely mind-blowing-ly amazing.

Of course, being my absolute favourite power-team lineup or Far From Falling and Fair to Midland, what would you expect? Along with Smiling Politely and Johnnyrook. (I hope you're seeing the FFF/FtM pattern by now. FtM really likes FFF! Yay!)

Anyways, expect babble. Plenty of it.
(as a side note, for those NOT in the know, I got Lasik about a week ago (the 30th), so if I mention trouble focusing or dry eyes or fear of getting punched in the face and going permanently blind, that is why! I probably wont mention it, but since I'm so happy with it I wanted to bring it up anyways! 8D)

First, we went to Khans! )
We're inside and talking to people yay! )
Far From Falling holds my heart )
Fair to Midland blows my mind )
Pictures, chit-chat, we stick around till two )

I say it a lot. But this was the BEST show. Ever. I wish I had the poetic talents to describe it, but it was just so... fulfilling. I love an emotional rollercoaster at shows, and this delivered.

I'd also like to add in that the crowd was AMAZING. I talked to so many random people and everyone was so... cool. No crazy competetive-ness. A sense of unity. Fair to Midland draws a very understanding crowd. I only got annoyed at one girl ("underbite lawl lawl") but I wont even bother with her.

I feel good.

Lady Gaga

March 23 - The Fine Line - Lady Gaga!

HELL YEAH WE SAW LADY GAGA.
LADY GAGA.
UNF.
HOT FUCKING DAMN.
Really, you dont even NEED a report, it was LADY GAGA.
But I'm a sweetiepants, so I'll give you one anyways.

Funny story... this was Megan's and my 3 year anniversary of seeing Dir en grey for the first time. March 23 2006, we flew out to LA for a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to see them XD

I think Lady Gaga is an appropriate way to celebrate!

BUT FUCK DIR EN GREY IN THE EYE this has nothing to do with them. I'd see Gaga over them oops did I say that out loud?

So, GO!

first, we went to eat! )
In line! And wristbands? YES! )
A brief review on Cinema Bizarre, Chester French, and White Tie Affair )
enough of that, lets get to GAGA! )
Phew. Okay, lets do this meet-n-greet thing! )
So lets talk to Roadies, then! )

Feb 13 - The Fine Line - MN

This wont really have a report, as theres nothing to report.
I just found it fabulously interesting that I was in the EXACT same location almost two years ago. Dir en grey at The Fine Line in 07 (report here). Right down to where I stood in front of the stage, really xD This was just on the 13th as opposed to the 14th... close enough! The Fine Line seemed so... small! I'm surprised that there were that many people packed in way back then.

AAAAANYwho, enough of that. Just amusing.

Show was great. Duh. Such an emotional rush like always. I'm not even sure WHAT to say anymore about these guys. I love them. They pulled a pretty good crowd again. I'm so proud of them!

I sadly wont be able to see them on their upcoming show this Friday... or actually ANY of their currently scheduled shows. But I'm sticking to my "No more taking off work, bitch!" promise! Summer is soon, just have to remind myself of that. I'll be supporting them from... well, from work -.-'

Anywho, I snagged a setlist cause nurr hurr memory.
in case anyone cares! )
And I loved it all :3

GO!
They're actually recording super super soon (thank GOD!), so they'll probably have music back up soon. But there ARE videos! Check it if you're cool!

Jan. 9 - The Cabooze (Tepetricy) and Trocaderos (Far From Falling)

FINALLY, another show! I feel like it's been a long time, but I guess it really hasn't been too bad. First show of the new year! And well well worth it, too~!

This time, we had two bands we wanted to see, so we had to concert hop a wee bit. It seems every band we like in the area was playing at the same time -.- Of course.

Soooo, we left about a quarter to 8, and headed off to The Cabooze... and played with Megans new GPS friend! This'll be GREAT for our next ridiculous roadtrip, haha!

Yo ho, hear we go )

June 28 - The Rock - Maplewood, MN

I am so one million times happy that I found Fair to Midland. Thanks, Dir en grey! And through FtM, I also found Far From Falling. Aww I love!

So, THIS time, Megan and I did merch for FFF, as they (and Johnnyrook) opened for FtM. Meaning a free ticket in, and lots of good times.

Merching )
I love FtM )

May 18 - Slim's - San Francisco, CA

OMF THIS WAS URG URG ARG HURRRRRRRRRRRERRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHURRR.

Miyavi was great.
The line, hotel, people around me, the fucking wheelchair, the cold, the jaw pains...

Sorry Miyavi, you were beyond fantastic. But the negatives stick out too much.

THAT IS MY REPORT.

For now. But since I'm lazy... probably forever.

Fair to Midland

Dec 15 2007 - Station 4 - MN

It was AWESOME! I loved every second of that night.
Well, except waiting out in the cold until my feetsies turned numb and my thighs went stiff, haha. Oh well!

Megan and John took a poster each off the wall as a souvenier... however that is spelled. おみやげ! They were pretty cool looking. I like Megan's the best, its double sided even! I wanted one, but they were all gone then. Ah well!

Blah blah, we got inside, got right up against the stage. It was easy. Unlike stupid fanatical deg fans, people weren't trying to kill eachother for the best spots *eyeroll* It's always lovely being at non-idiot filled concerts *cough*
rest of report, cut for you~! )

I am probably the coolest person you know, by the way.
So anyways, this is probably the most in depth live report I've ever written.

Oh Yeah! )
AND THE END HA HA. Why am I even posting this one? Nurr hurr hurr!
